1. About this policy
This privacy policy explains how David Dark Foundational Health ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our website, book a session, or engage our health mentoring services.
We take your privacy seriously. Health and wellbeing information is among the most personal data a person can share, and we treat it with the care and respect it deserves.
2. Who we are
David Dark Foundational Health is a health mentoring service operated by David Dark, an Australian sole trader (ABN 32 513 387 186). We provide personalised health and lifestyle mentoring. We are not a medical practice and do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
3. What information we collect
We collect personal information in several ways depending on how you interact with us.
When you visit our website: We collect analytics data such as pages visited, time on site, referring website, and general geographic region using Google Tag Manager (which loads Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity). Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which may collect technical data (such as IP addresses) for security and performance purposes. Our website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may transmit your IP address to Google's servers.
When you book a discovery call or session: We collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and scheduling preferences through our booking system (Cal.com).
When you submit a contact or enquiry form: Your name, email address, and message are sent to HubSpot, our customer relationship management platform.
When you complete the intake questionnaire: We collect detailed personal and health information including your age, gender, health goals, current eating habits, medical conditions, medications, allergies, and lifestyle information.
During mentoring sessions: With your explicit consent, mentoring sessions conducted via Google Meet are recorded and transcribed. Recordings and transcripts are used to generate session summaries and to support the continuity of your mentoring engagement.
Between sessions: If you are on an ongoing engagement, between-session messaging takes place via Slack. Messages you send and receive in your private client channel are stored by Slack.
When you make a payment: Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see, store, or have access to your full credit card or bank account details.
4. How we use your information
- Providing the mentoring service and preparing for sessions.
- Generating session summaries from recordings and transcripts.
- Improving the quality of the service (using anonymised, aggregated insights only).
- Sending booking confirmations, session reminders, and service-related messages.
- Meeting our obligations under applicable privacy and consumer protection laws.
We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the mentoring service without your explicit consent.
5. Who has access to your information
Your personal information is accessible to:
- David Dark — as your mentor.
- A small number of trusted individuals who provide technical and operational support for the business. They have access to systems that store your data for the purpose of maintaining and improving the service infrastructure.
Your data is also processed by third-party service providers (Stripe, Cal.com, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Fonts, Microsoft Clarity, Slack, HubSpot, Cloudflare), each of which has their own privacy policy and data processing terms.
6. How we store and protect your information
Your information is stored using cloud-based services with servers located primarily in the United States. Our website is served via Cloudflare's global content delivery network, which may cache content on servers in multiple countries. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including restricting access, requiring multi-factor authentication, and ensuring payment data is handled entirely by Stripe.
7. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the mentoring service and for a reasonable period afterward, after which it is securely deleted. If you request deletion of your data, we will action that request promptly. Analytics data collected through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity is retained according to the default retention settings of those providers.
8. Session recording and transcription
Your consent is required before any recording takes place. You may withdraw consent at any time. If you decline recording, your session will proceed without recording and David will take manual notes.
9. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information.

California clients (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
